Material Shield™
Engine Core: Algorithmic Data Extraction & Materials Science Verification.
1. System Overview
Material Shield™ is an automated forensic intelligence engine designed to bulletproof enterprise supply chains during the global transition to sustainable composites. The platform ingests supplier documentation, algorithms extract chemical vectors, and the system cross-references these findings against international regulatory frameworks.
Built on a foundation of advanced materials science and biocomposite research, the engine goes beyond basic text matching by offering engineered substitution pathways for non-compliant materials.
2. Security & Infrastructure
CompoziQ recognizes that Bills of Materials (BOM) and supplier Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are highly sensitive intellectual property.
- Zero-Retention Architecture: The platform operates strictly in volatile server memory. Uploaded files are processed in-memory and instantly purged upon session termination. CompoziQ does not store, archive, or train external models on client supply chain data.
- Cryptographic Fingerprinting: Every document processed generates an immutable SHA-256 cryptographic hash. This ensures the exact version of the supplier document audited is permanently linked to its compliance outcome, protecting buyers from silent supplier revisions.
- Encrypted Pipeline: Deployed via Google Cloud, all data transmission is secured via enterprise-grade TLS encryption.
3. Core Capabilities
A. Batch BOM Ingestion
Procurement teams can evaluate entire product assemblies simultaneously.
- Supported Formats:
.PDF(Individual files) or.ZIP(Full BOM batch ingestion). - Output: Generates a top-level Supply Chain BOM Summary detailing Total Components, Cleared Materials, High-Risk Vectors, and an overall BOM Compliance Percentage.
B. Forensic Evidence Extraction
When a restricted chemical or greenwashing claim is detected, the engine does not simply issue a “Fail.” It provides legal ammunition.
- The engine extracts the exact sentence where the violation occurred.
- It cites the specific page number from the supplier’s document.
- It explicitly maps the chemical to the violated global legislation.
C. The Substitution Matrix
Material Shield™ operates as a strategic engineering partner. When conventional plastics or toxic additives are flagged, the system deploys the Substitution Matrix.
- Dynamically recommends compliant, scientifically viable alternatives.
- Leverages deep domain expertise to suggest specific biocarbon composites, PBAT blends, bio-epoxy resins, and compliant stabilizers.
D. Multi-Axis Risk Radar
Every scan generates a dynamic radar chart, visually mapping the material’s threat level across three critical axes: Regulatory Liability, Environmental Persistence, and Supply Chain Volatility.
4. Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
Phase 1: Ingestion
The client authenticates their session via the secure portal and uploads supplier documentation (PDF or ZIP). The engine initiates the extraction protocol in volatile memory.
Phase 2: Verification
The system’s regex-bounded algorithms strip the documents, bypassing standard formatting obfuscation to isolate critical chemical markers. Vectors are screened against the live CompoziQ Regulatory Matrix.
Phase 3: Output & Artifact Generation
- For Compliant Materials: The engine issues a “PASS” and generates a downloadable, time-stamped Compliance Artifact (PDF) featuring the document’s SHA-256 fingerprint for internal procurement records.
- For Non-Compliant Materials: The engine issues an “ESCALATION REQUIRED” alert, displays the extracted forensic evidence, and outputs the engineered substitution pathways.
5. Regulatory Frameworks Supported
The Material Shield™ engine currently maps identified chemical vectors to the following active mandates:
- EU REACH (Substances of Very High Concern & Annex XVII Restrictions)
- EPA TSCA (Section 8(a)(7) PFAS Reporting & Restrictions)
- RoHS Directive (2011/65/EU Heavy Metals)
- EU POPs Regulation ((EU) 2019/1021)
- ECHA (Microplastics Restrictions)
- CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act)
6. Escalation Protocol
When Material Shield detects critical liability vectors that cannot be resolved via simple substitution, clients may deploy the CompoziQ Forensic Dossier.
For a fixed engagement fee, our internal materials science team executes a manual, deep-dive forensic audit of the supplier documentation. The deliverable is a legally defensible, 50+ page compliance report mapped directly to the client’s exact Bill of Materials, providing absolute procurement certainty.
